The Letter

An Invitation from The Universe Book Heaven

Dear Dr. Sabri Bebawi,

I hope this message finds you well.

My name is Sienna Desjardins, and I am reaching out on behalf of The Universe Book Heaven, an international literary community of more than 3,000 readers, educators, librarians, book clubs, and lifelong learners who enjoy discovering distinctive stories that inspire reflection, imagination, and meaningful literary conversations.

We are currently preparing for our 2026–2027 Reading Challenge, a year-long literary program designed to encourage readers to establish their own personal reading goals while discovering exceptional and distinctive books across a wide range of genres. Throughout the challenge, participants take part in book discussions, author spotlights, themed reading events, community recommendations, and literary conversations that encourage readers to engage deeply with the stories they discover.

It is with great interest that we invite your novel, Divine Comedy, to be considered for inclusion in The Universe Book Heaven's 2026–2027 Action, Thriller & Philosophical Fiction Reading Challenge.

Divine Comedy immediately caught our attention because of its unusual combination of adventure, human drama, medical challenges, relationships, humor, and philosophical reflection. Rather than presenting life as a straightforward journey, the novel appears to embrace its contradictions and unexpected turns, inviting readers to consider whether the experiences we encounter are ultimately tragic, humorous, absurd, or some combination of all three.

The central character's extraordinary struggle with a seemingly endless succession of medical conditions creates a compelling foundation for the story. Yet the novel does not limit itself to illness and adversity. His relationships, romantic encounters, personal frustrations, and search for meaning introduce another layer to the narrative, creating a character whose strengths and weaknesses are equally important to understanding his journey.

One of the elements we find particularly compelling is the question at the heart of the novel: What is reality, and what is fiction? By deliberately leaving readers to consider where fact ends and fiction begins, Divine Comedy creates an engaging relationship between the narrator, the story, and the reader.

The recurring idea that there are different ways of responding to life's trials — whether through frustration and bitterness or through humor and acceptance — also gives the novel an interesting philosophical dimension. The notion that life itself can be a "Divine Comedy" provides a distinctive lens through which readers can examine adversity, relationships, mortality, and the unpredictable nature of human existence.

We were also intrigued by the novel's unconventional approach to characterization. The protagonist's romantic appetite, personal imperfections, and vulnerabilities prevent him from becoming a simple heroic figure. Instead, these characteristics invite readers to question what lies beneath outward confidence and how personal strengths can sometimes conceal deeper weaknesses or unmet needs.

Although the story can be approached as an accessible narrative, its deeper themes reward readers who take time to consider the connections between the events, the recurring ideas, and the philosophical questions beneath the surface. This layered approach could make Divine Comedy particularly suitable for readers who enjoy discussing not only what happens in a story, but also what the story ultimately means.

As a work combining Action/Thriller, Drama, Fiction, Adventure, and Philosophical Reflection, Divine Comedy offers considerable potential for thoughtful discussion. Its exploration of adversity, human relationships, mortality, humor, reality, and the unpredictable nature of life could encourage readers to approach the novel from a variety of perspectives.

Featuring Divine Comedy in The Universe Book Heaven's 2026–2027 Reading Challenge would provide opportunities for continued reader discovery through book discussions, author spotlights, themed reading events, community recommendations, and ongoing literary conversations throughout the challenge.

We would be honored to introduce Divine Comedy to our international reading community and give readers the opportunity to experience your distinctive approach to storytelling. We believe the novel's unusual blend of humor, emotion, adventure, personal struggle, and philosophical questioning could inspire engaging conversations among our readers.

Would you be interested in having Divine Comedy considered for inclusion in The Universe Book Heaven's 2026–2027 Reading Challenge?

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. We sincerely appreciate the creativity behind your work and the distinctive perspective you bring to the relationship between adversity, human experience, and storytelling. We would be delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate Divine Comedy with our growing community of readers.
