About the Novel
Chiara is a twenty-two-year-old woman who has just graduated with a degree in Art History. Full of ambition and wonder, she travels to Rome and moves in with Sofia, a close friend of her mother. It is there that she meets Professor Rafi Curti, Sofia's nephew — a charismatic and brilliant man who captivates her completely.
As their relationship deepens, Chiara begins to uncover a web of secrets that shakes the very foundation of her world. She discovers that her mother once shared an intimate history with Rafi, and that her father's past is entangled with Sofia's. And when she learns that Rafi is engaged to one of his students at the University of Florence, the life she imagined begins to unravel. The novel builds toward a conclusion that is as surprising as it is unforgettable.
