Tentative Weekly Assignments

PART ONE: Weeks 1 & 2

Read all the information about the course: Syllabus, Announcements, and Calendar.
 
Log on BlackBoard at  http://online.sjeccd.org/webct/entryPageIns.dowebct 
When you log on BlackBoard, click on your course, then Discussion and read what is expected for Weeks One and Two.
Write your Biography on a Word Document, name it and save it to your computer, then post it on the Discussion Board on BlackBoard in the folder titled BIOGRAPHY.
Read Part One in Real Writing with Reading: "How to Write Paragraphs and Essays" Chapters 1-5 PP 1- 64 and work on the exercises in the text. Please be sure that all the exercises in the Textbook are reviewed and completed, including the Chapter Review at the end of each chapter.

To Kill a Mocking Bird: Introduction: Chapters 1-5 
Important: Go to http://www.sabri.org/mockingbird.htm  and read as many as you can from the files on the story before you start reading the novel.
 
Essay Assignment: 
Please read the Writing Assignment on Page 63.  Choose one topic from the Writing Assignment.  Write a well developed and coherent Thesis Statement and develop primary support points.  Post this work on the folder titled "Writing Assignment 1" in the Discussion Area.  Due date will be posted in the folder.

PART ONE & Two: Week 3: 

Read Part One in Real Writing with Reading: "How to Write Paragraphs and Essays" Chapters 6-8 PP 65- 104 and work on the exercises in the text. Please be sure that all the exercises in the Textbook are reviewed and completed, including the ESSAY ASSIGNMENT

Chapter Review at the end of each chapter.

Read Part Two in Real Writing with Reading: "Writing Different Kinds of Paragraphs and Essays" Chapters 9 - 11 PP 107- 149 and work on the exercises in the text. Please be sure that all the exercises in the Textbook are reviewed and completed, including the Chapter Review at the end of each chapter.

In a well developed five-paragraph essay that includes an introduction, a body of three supporting paragraphs, and a strong conclusion write about an experience that triggered a strong emotion in you: happiness, sadness, relief, fear, regret, or nervousness. 

Follow narration guidelines in your textbook: Chapter 9

Please be sure that all the exercises in the Textbook are reviewed and completed, including the Chapter Review at the end of each chapter.
